Al leer las lecturas de este domingo me he acordado de los tatuajes. Están muy de moda en todos los grupos y tribus urbanas. Los cristianos de Siria tatúan una cruz en la muleca a sus hijos pequeños cuando los bautizan. El bautismo se dice que marca carácter y es indeleble. Esta cruz tatuada no se puede borrar de la piel tampoco, no es una cruz colgada de quita y pon. Esto es impresionante en un país como este donde ser cristiano es jugarse la vida. Estos cristianos dan la cara por Jesús.

¿Dónde y ante quien dará Jesús la cara por nosotros? Declarará ante el Padre por nosotros en el juicio en el que “el que mata el alma” nos acusará recordando nuestros pecados para tratar de apartarnos de Dios (eso es matar el alma). En ese juicio Jesús se levantará como testigo y dirá: “yo he muerto por el/ella y he derramado mi sangre por sus pecados, ya he pagado el precio de su culpa”.

¿Doy yo la cara por Jesús? Puede que no todo lo que debería. ¿Por qué me pasa eso? ¿Es sólo por miedo a los que matan el cuerpo? Yo creo que no. Cuando una relación no anda bien se deja de dar la cara por el otro. Qué triste cuando escuchamos a un esposo hablar mal de su esposa, o a una esposa ridiculizando a su esposo. Es un síntoma de que la relación no marcha bien. También es triste cuando escuchamos a un amigo hablar mal de su amigo, o no defenderlo delante de los demás, esa amistad no es tal.   Creo que si nos falta valentía para dar la cara por Jesús es porque nuestra relación con Él no es tan auténtica como parece. Hoy la Palabra de Dios nos anima a seguir profundizando en esa relación para que cada día sea más fuerte, y seamos capaces de vencer el miedo y dar la cara por Jesús. Cuidado con el verano porque nos podemos relajar y dejar que nuestra relación con Jesús se enfríe.  Feliz día y bendiciones. Para ver las lecturas pincha aquí.
